Squeaky Clean: All Purpose Cleaner Recipe

Lately I've had my eye on all natural cleaners. With more and more people wanting to be as natural as possible, its so easy to find something that fits your needs. But since I'm a compulsive d.i.yer, I figured, "heck, why don't I just make this stuff myself."

Of course one of my concerns with using all natural cleaners was their effectiveness. I just wasn't quite convinced that they are as powerful as those expensive, name brand, chemical filled products. Turns out they are just as good with the added bonus that they don't leave behind harmful residues and toxins that are bad for you and your family.

Homemade Soap (melt and pour method)

Cute party favors I made for my sister-in-law's babyshower using the melt and pour method
Making my very own homemade soap is a craft that I find absolutely thrilling. I get to choose how my soap will feel, look, and smell, not to mention I can add my own combination of essential oils, clays, and exfoliants to satisfy my skin needs. I can use beautiful and unique molds to create one of a kind looks. And with so many people jumping on the soap making bandwagon, there are now all sorts of places to find the supplies I need to create a variety of naturally healing soap.

It all started by accident

Here I am with my daughter on the day she was born.
For the past five years or so I have become more and more interested in leading an all natural, eco friendly lifestyle. I've made changes here and there that I feel contribute to the conservation of mother earth, even if its on a small scale. Of course there is much more I can do and improve on, but I hope that this blog will provide others with the information they need to be more "green."

I believe, first and foremost, we must put great care into what we put in and on our bodies. We all know that a good diet and exercise will help us achieve overall wellness, but yet we don't do it. Instead we try to treat our ailments individually as they come, taking all sorts of over the counter medicines and suffering from their side effects. Wouldn't it be better to simply consume the right combination of foods and beverages to prevent the illness in the first place?
